Foodie Friday: Batch Cooking

Batch cooking.  I have always found batch cooking so helpful for the days I am rushing around and don't have time to cook from scratch.  One of my go to's is a decent Spag Bowl.  Great to mix with wholemeal pasta or to have with salad if you want a lighter dinner.



  • Onions
  • Bell Pepper
  • Chorizo (optional)
  • Mixed herbs
  • Garlic 
  • Lean mince meat 
  • Tinned chopped tomatoes
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Tomato puree



Fry the chopped onion with the bell pepper and chorizo until lightly browned.  Add in the mince mince and cook till brown.  Add in the chopped tomatoes, mixed herbs, splash of balsamic vinegar and half a tube of tomato puree - remember to taste test it to ensure you have the balance correct.  Let cool and put into separate portion containers and place in your freezer till needed.
