Blog: Five quick and easy healthy salads.

Watermelon, feta and mint salad is nice as a light lunch or side dish. Watermelons have nitric oxide which helps our  blood vessels expand which lowers blood pressure. It also has other vitamins like A, B6, C, magnesium and potassium which is good for our soul.

Quinoa salad is a great to make at home and you can use any fresh ingredients including tomatoes, cucumber  avocado and spinach. Quinoa is gluten-free and high in protein so its one of a few plant foods that contain sufficient amounts of all nine essential amino acids. It also is a good source of fibre.

Butternut squash is not only super yummy but very good for you. It is packed full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, and antioxidants. You can enjoy butternut squash with feta, spinach and pine nuts as a tasty lunch. Did you know 3 tablespoons of butternut squash equal 1 of your 5 a day.

Courgette salad  can be served warm or cold depending on your mood. This has become a popular salad as its not only healthy but super delicious. Best served with cherry tomatoes , mozzarella and pine nuts. This summer squash also contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients.

Avocado and tuna salad is a mouth-watering combo for any day of the week. Add you greens and this salad will give you an energy boost. Avocados offer nearly 20 vitamins and minerals in every serving they are also low in sugar and contain fibre.
