Blog: Five foods to help boost our immune systems.

With the current situation of Covid-19 its very important to keep our immune systems up. If we eat the right foods they can provide us with energy and help support our bodies. We’ve put together five foods that can help keep you on track.

1. Spinach 

Spinach made our list because it’s rich in vitamin C which helps build up our immune system. It is also packed with numerous antioxidants and beta carotene, which may increase the infection-fighting ability of our immune systems.

2. Garlic

Yes you heard right, garlic is a popular remedy to health clear a cold and can provide all sorts of health benefits. It has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years and has demonstrated antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral effects. So now you can freely enjoy a meals packed of garlic knowing you are keeping your body healthy. 

3. Oranges 

Oranges remind me of summer and are great to enjoy as a snack after a workout. Did you know one medium orange delivers 70 mg of vitamin C? Other citrus fruits such as limes, mandarins and grapefruits are also a good source of vitamin C. Oranges make up a significant portion of dietary vitamin C intake which will help our immune system.

4. Broccoli

Broccoli is known as the fibre vegetable. Packed with goodness including vitamin A, C and E. Studies have shown that 5 grams of fibre can be found in broccoli per cup. For the best results of getting all nutrients don’t over cook this vegetable. 

5. Green tea

Green tea is the healthiest beverage on the planet. This tasty tea contains less caffeine than coffee so you can drink all day long without getting the shakes. Green tea is loaded with nutrients and antioxidants that have powerful effects on our bodies. The most important antioxidant is EGCG as this helps enhances our immune function.
