Foodie Friday: Peas, spinach & tomatoes
Welcome to the first of our Trainer Spotlight blog posts! Each month, we’re giving you the chance to get to know your trainer a little better, and first up is the amazing Helen!
Helen has just run 6 marathons, over 6 weeks to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Breast Cancer Now, because this incredibly inspiring lady is a cancer surviour herself, who did not let her diagnose stop her from doing one of her favourite activities, running. In fact, one month after Helen was told she was completely cancer free she ran the Hackney half-marathon. GO HELEN!
Name: Helen Weller
Must be running!!
What keeps me motivated:
Usually because I am raising money for charity and can’t let them down, not just in events but for training too. But also just wanting to keep fit and live as healthy a lifestyle as I can. Life is too short, let’s not make it shorter!
Why did you become a personal trainer?
I had been teaching on a part time basis, Jazzercise and was also doing my own thing with keeping myself fit. When I moved to London, I wanted to do something more, so I quit and eventually, after battling some life changing stuff called cancer, I did my PT course. I didn’t let cancer stop me and hope that I can inspire and help motivate others to stay fit and healthy too.
Favourite thing to do in my free time?
I like to dance, so more activity!!
What would I eat the rest of my life?
Jacket sweet potato with cheese, beans, tuna mayo, sweet corn, sour cream and bacon. Yes, all on one potato! Good for carb loading for races and enough variety of toppings for it not to get boring!!
