So on Saturday I went to Vent which is a fitness convention at the Ministry of Sound.
Vent is put on by a guy called Troy Dureh who is an international fitness presenter https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Troy-Dureh-International-Fitness-Presenter/291463080886869 . He’s a local Eastender living near Victoria Park. Troy came up with the class Fight Klub which is an hour long class where you kick and punch punchbags to old skool garage, jungle and drum and bass! He MC’s the instructions over the top of the music. It is defo one of the most fun classes I have ever done in my life and I have done a lot of classes! Here is a link to a clip, someone must have just made it on the day but you will get the idea https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151223553114188
Fight Klub has now gone national you can get qualified in it if you are a PT or exercise to music instructor and teach it in your local gym. If I worked in a gym I would defo train and teach it, partly so I could listen to old skool jungle!! Not sure if my MCing is up to scratch though 😉
It was funny going to Ministry for a fitness event after spending my early 20’s dancing on their podiums to house music. Was wicked to have the class music linked up to their sound systems, a live DJ and the lights dimmed.
They used both rooms. Room 1 was step in the morning with 5 different step aerobics classes. It then turned into combat in the afternoon doing a variety of classes from bag boxing to pads/gloves and a kind of martial arts inspired combo dance class. Room 2 was dance which had everything from Rave to Zumba. One of my fav international presenters Zoe McNulty was there https://www.facebook.com/#!/zoestiletto . She is one of the most down to earth people I have met who works in the fitness industry and creates a lot of dance classes that are really fun.
So if you fancy a fitness convention with really fun classes I would defo recommend Vent.
