So who says you can’t fit fitness into your holiday!
I just went to the States for 2 weeks and as well as sight seeing, going out, shopping and all the usual stuff one does when away, I took my trainers and fitted in keeping fit too.
In San Fran I did a run along the sea front and over Golden Gate Bridge. Meant I got to see twice as much in the same amount of time as I would have walking and got a bit of exercise too.
Another day I hired a bike from the seafront and cycled round more of the city – far more active than sitting on a bus.
You will be pleased to know walking round the shops shopping counts too J
When I went to LA you can roller blade, cycle, run or walk down the beach in Santa Monica/Venice Beach. Swim in the sea, surf, volley ball on the beach – lots of beach activities.
I used the iphone application Yelp and located the nearest gym to where I was and attended a couple of classes. Most gyms let you pay as you go if you want to go for the day.
So where ever you are going on holiday this year, think outside the box and think about what exercise you can fit in while you are away. It doesn’t have to be full on but doing a small amount of exercise while you are away will make a hell of a difference compared to do nothing until you come back!
And there is no excuse not to go for long walks!!!
