Saturday I did the course and became a Thump Boxing Instructor http://www.thumpboxing.co.uk/. It was WICKED. Thump Boxing is so much fun. It was established in Australia and has been running over there for 8 years, it is their number one boxing for fitness qualification. It is now in a few countries around the world and I am sure it is going to be massive internationally time.
You can use the technique for either one to one personal training sessions or you can use it for group exercise. I am going to be using it in my personal training sessions straight away and am defo going to set up a class out of the new London Fields PT Studio in the new year http://www.lovelondonfitness.com/studio.html and do sessions there for a fiver – watch this space for info.
With combinations of cardio, specific muscle groups (ads, legs, etc), pyramid and combo training it keeps the sessions really varied and they are so much fun to do and you get such a great work out from them. It is perfect for weight loss, toning up or increasing your level of cardiovascular fitness, no matter what fitness level you are at. The great thing about Thump is that they teach you to hold the pads as well as punch so you are in complete control when you are blocking punches – always a good idea to avoid black eyes.
I am new to boxing and as well as teaching it I am defo going to be doing more myself (when my arms stop aching from the course)! I haven’t had so much fun learning something new in ages. I have already signed up to the advanced course in the new year.
